There is little to say - or perhaps too much - about the Riserva di Costasera. The most classic of the classics, a special selection of Costasera, the gentle giant of Masi. In Valpolicella Classica, the coasts facing the sunset that watch the day come to an end are the best suited for an Amarone of high lineage, for longer days and for the reflections of the sun, which bring the grapes to perfect maturity. A proud, complex wine with a virile exuberance best expresses the Amarone category, in the Olympus of Italian wines. 
 Masi's traditional experience in the Appassimento technique takes the form of a long over-ripening of the grapes on the arele, the bamboo racks where the indigenous Valpolicella varieties rest, and then refined for a minimum of three years in noble wood. Here, a highly prized blend of Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta and Molinara gives life to this splendid Reserve. 
 Its color is impenetrable ruby red, like the proudest wines; it intoxicates the nose with a smell of plum and cooked cherry and pleasant hints of roasted coffee, while enveloping the palate in a majestic and elegant way, with recognizable hints of cherries in alcohol and bitter cocoa. The finish is pleasantly long and velvety, like in a fairy tale. 
 Meditation wine, it is an excellent companion after a meal. It marries wonderfully red meats, game and aged cheeses. Simply magnificent.
